As you know, Miles then resumed two more months of chemotherapy, finishing all medical treatment the week of Thanksgiving, 2015.
Here's a synopsis of what's happened as Miles got his groove back:
- Early November: 2015: received first prosthetic leg
- Thanksgiving: toasted completion of chemotherapy
- December: started physical therapy and athletic training in earnest
- December 10: CT and bone scans normal
- January 2016: started fielding ground balls
- January 3: jet skied in Puerto Rico
- January 30: skated for first time on new leg, with stick and puck
- February 13: first time back to Blitz trampoline park...now a weekly regular
- February 19-22: Red Sox spring training trip with Bobby Orr, Dennis & Callahan & Kirk, and Uncle Dave
- February 26: on a snowboard
- February 27: zip-lined and hiked through Bretton Woods
- March 2: first haircut in a year
- March 10: First 3-month check-up: normal CT scan
- March 14-22: Make-a-Wish trip to Australia
- May 7: Baseball opening day: rips double to right field fence
- May 14: visited at Phillies game by padawan Carter, age 7, who himself had rotationplasty four months prior, and was sporting his new prosthesis
- June 4: Phillies win Oyster River championship; Miles hits his first home run!
Miles is strong, lean, focused, social, and just completed 7th grade, which he loved.
